chooses a cause into which to focus our efforts within and outside our communities.
We have recently chosen to support the charity
Any suicide represents a loss- to friends, workplace, and to society. Most of all the loss is felt most by the immediate family. They go through a mix of guilt, anger, emotional stress, everything.
At this point they need help. They need someone to outpour their feelings- someone not connected to the family. The space to vent, to express their individual emotions.
Because it affects families, and those connected with the individual, in many different ways. Someone to turn to.
We recently had a fund-raising event for Sunflowers involving a Curling Evening (on parquet). Pushing weighted ‘stones’ on rollers to a mat with the ringed scores. An event for all ages with little effort needed.
These are good events which provide an opportunity for folk to have an social evening around a fish-& chip supper together with a bit of fun, whilst raising funds for the chosen cause.
In the spirit of things the Rev wore a kilt & sporran, claiming Scottish as well as Welsh ancestry. Towards the end he passed his sporran around………. for donations and loose cash.
The evening raised £201.26p. Many thanks to all who came and shared in the fun.
